"Prideful" did we not read the same story or did you only listen to what Mrs Ettman said and ran with it? Layla was sacrificing her pride by keeping this from Kyle AND the public despite how insulted she was, she was okay with never letting it become known that his mother had did and said such an awful thing so that the only pain he would have to deal with, would be a broken heart over someone he didn't have to see everyday. She was sacrificing an important friend because she didn't want to tear away his family over love. (Considering her backstory and how her mother allegedly left her family for someone else, she did a selfless thing of not wanting Kyle to go through what she did.) Kyle is now dealing with two losses: his mother and Layla, something she was trying to actively prevent. Don't get me wrong, the way Layla handled it wasn't entirely ideal but to call her "prideful" over what she did just feels so far off for me. Not to mention, she rejected Kyle how many times? He kept forcing his love on her despite her rejecting him, she quite frankly didn't have much of a choice. She was forced into the marriage aswell as forced out of it, the only choice she got (that Matthias took away from her) was to ensure Kyle wouldn't get anymore hurt then he already was.
honestly tho, kyle deserves so much, layla doesn't even notice and feel how much kyle loves her smh
