FYI I dont think you meant it derogatory but 'Jap' is an old slur, be careful if you use it to refer to Japanese people. A better abbreviation would be 'Jp' or just writing out Japanese. I feel like you had no ill will and I wanted to let you know just in case you use the word unintentionally
