I pretty sure he knows about the motorcycle accident but ian chose to not acknowledge it cus when TJ realize that he mess up and Ian cloud have die or probably not walk again. TJ try to confess about it but instead Ian kiss him and the dialogue of his thought was long the line "don't say it" "I'm scared if you say it it'll be over" or something along that line.
