Hate when stories built up a good twist only to never do anything with it

The revelation that he’s the true king was just passed by like a gentle breeze. What was even the point? It’s a fact that added nothing to the plot, and didn’t serve the conclusion. Nothing was done with the discovery at all. What a waste of a twist. I suspect the author wanted to do more with that, but was rushed into finish this and just wasn’t allowed any more chapters for some reason. That has to be it. Who would intentionally end a story like this? It’s asinine. Almost regret reading.

It helped him find the contract and gave him the ability to destroy it when no one else could because the king obviously wouldn't. They said only royals have the power to destroy it. That's a pretty big plot relevance? I think for sure the ending is way too rushed and they could have done more with it, but it's definitely important that he's royal, even if for some reason no one realized it.
