I mean its realistic. In a feudal society, those with power tend to be corrupt and thus evil. The people who benefit the most from poor people suffering are royalty and the church. Its always been that way historically and this manga takes inspo from that
Ik, but in a world full of dragons and wizards why can't we have a more diversity of villains than the royal family or the temple?? I would love seeing that mage tower being evil for once
