i agree with you, but jinhyeong was young and the way his own father treated him, nearly neglecting and belittling his own son for most of his life, when all he wanted was to be acknowledged and validated. with the little crumbs his father dropped in front of him, i can understand why he folded so quickly.
jinhyeong was at least willing and trying to talk it out and communicate with songrik, but as you said he took it way too far.
