this kind of story really pisses me off. like, i can assume when i’m reading something toxic and fucked up, and sometimes that’s fine, it’s fiction, and people can explore dark themes. but what i hate is when the author can’t decide what kind of story they’re telling. like, are you trying to make the older character someone with morals and principles? or are you writing a toxic, messed-up relationship? because no adult with actual morals would ever get involved with a minor like that. if the character is supposed to be a decent person, they wouldnt do this lol it doesn’t make sense, you can’t have it both ways. either commit to writing a dark, toxic story (and make it clear that it’s fiction and not okay in real life), or write a story where the characters are the same age or both adults. this weird in-between where the story tries to justify something clearly wrong just doesn’t work. it’s uncomfortable, and it honestly ruins the whole thing
