it's not actually their fault. all these webcomic publishers have rough contracts that hold artists in extremely tight schedules. they have to submit upwards of a hundred illustrations each week.
And why do you think I said they should take care of themselves like an athlete? Their hands are how they make a living and should be cared for as such. But guess what, predatory publishers aside, most artists don't treat their hands with care until they get injured.
Artists will whip out 22 chapters of amazing art and then go, "yeah so I treated my hands and wrists like shit and now I can't use them* (generalized) and now we all suffer. They might not be athletes in the literal sense, but they need to take care of themselves like one
