the no prep scene

was almost put off of this by all the no prep comments making me think it was horrible, but i feel like there’s more nuance to the scene that everyone’s missing?

idk about y’all, but to me it clearly looked like hajoon (the bottom) was in pain the entire time with the blueish gray shading over his face that manhwa artists use to indicate discomfort and pain. the reddish hue over the text boxes also just made it seem like he was in pain imo, so it felt like it was the author and artist’s intention to make that scene uncomfortable rather than sexy. he was blushing the entire time, but i think that was more so because of the fact that he has had a crush on moogyum for 10 years.

plus, it also seems like it ties into hajoon’s character; he’s clearly a pushover who’d give into moogyum because of his 10 year crush on him. a situation he could have only dreamed of was sprung onto him and he was doing everything possible to make sure he didn’t mess it up. he lied about being experienced and about his own feelings to make sure moogyum wasn’t put off by him. hajoon was also in the room when moogyum said guys being attracted to him creeped him out, so it’s no wonder he didn’t want to risk anything with the prep and he just endured the pain the whole time.

now that isn’t to say the chapter wasn’t incredibly uncomfortable and saddening to read, but i think it’s unfair to treat it like every other no prep smut scene when it seemed completely intentional on the author’s part and was done to show the readers the type of character hajoon is. anyways, the story seems like it has a lot of potential and i’m hoping that some major character development happens
