Wouldnt call them kind, they just dont see humans as prey so they’re not aggressive (if it was a seal however…). And in captivity orcas have attacked humans due to boredom or stress so it would make more sense for this orca guy if he were to exhibit more of those traits.

Orcas have helped guide humans to land and have gone between sharks and humans. They are kind. They are kind to their young and their elders too. They are loving creatures. Dolphins hurt other animals for fun and they view humans as part of the entertainment too. Orcas are too big to be held in captivity since they are migratory animals. They need the ability to swim thousands upon thousands of miles. We see their vicious side because we put them in a too-small cage and force them to perform for us. If we didn’t, orcas would be seen as the kind and beautiful creatures that they are.

If you think wild animals lack the ability to be kind, you’re wrong. Wild animals have been known to help other species on occasion and sometimes even adopt a child from another species and raise it as their own. They also can recognise who is good to them and who isn’t so they can recognise kindness and cruelty and tell them apart. Animals are far more intelligent than we give them credit for. Even domesticated animals still have a streak of wild in them. If you can find a cat or dog to be kind and lovable then that should be true for all animals.

But I’m not attributing morals to them??? Kindness is a value not a moral. Kindness takes many forms and doesn’t have a set view. Morals have set views. They are not the same. Killing a creature that’s dying is mercy and kindness but morals would have you not kill since all killing is “bad” according to morals. You can’t talk about morals and values interchangeably.

You can't say a specie is kind just because they help humans. Dolphins also helps people in some situations. They are gorgeous animals yes but if they see you as a threat, they can and would easily kill you.

My dude, people say humans are kind or that bunnies are cute and kind or that deer are. Bunnies eat their own children when they annoy them and deer eat chicks and eggs that fall out of the nest. You can have duality in animals. There’s not a single thing on this planet that is purely one thing. In fact nothing is purely good or evil. No multi-celled organism is purely carnivorous or herbivore and therefore you can’t put morals onto them. You can however give credit where credit is due and call them an adjective based on the merit they earned. If an animal helps me when it absolutely has no need to, it’s kind. If an animal hurts me when it has absolutely no need to (I’m looking directly at wasps for this part), it’s a jackass. Like humans have good and bad humans, animal species have both good and bad individuals. Elephants are seen as benevolent and helpful and loving however some of them are downright petty and others are cruel. Just like humans AKA ANIMALS!! WE ARE ANIMALS!! WE ALSO KILL AND MAIM AND TORTURE!! SOME OF US MASS MURDER AND COMMIT GENOCIDE AND WE ARE ANIMALS!!! Yes you cannot judge a whole by a few but you CAN give credit where credit is due. Orcas have gone off migratory pathways to help humans. They don’t have to do that. In fact, it’s to their own detriment to do that and yet they still do it. It’s kindness and compassion.
