That's what I'm confused about as well, maybe those children were already in that village to begin with, like before Guwon found it and decided he'll keep it safe
I think, for a “functioning village” there needs to be children. The girls may have been seen as too old. Or there were already the siblings and their friend. Which would be important part of society for future procreation…. Like pairing off the sickly boy with the girl.
i'm still hung up on the doc's story about how guwon killed how wife and kids since they couldn't contribute to the community, meanwhile there's these children running about the place. is he lying? for what though?
