The number of evil/crazy females is absolutely appalling to me, but in that context either the bad friends’s mom is deluded or your theory is just spot on.

Nah they're definitely not siblings. The story stresses out how much the FL's dad loved his wife. The head maid might've slept with someone similar to the dad's looks..
But in the corner of my mind, I thought of a fuxked up theory that the head maid might've done something to the father in order to conceive ex-friend (Praying that this theory will not come true )
