Imo he didnt even have to lie THAT hard about going to dinner like why not just say "oh we did a small project together before and became friends. We have similar interests in shows and she wanted to talk about a recent one we both like" LIKE HOW HARD IS IT. I dont care that he didmt say the full truth bc the way these stupid yaois go a lot of the time is the seme going down too hard on the uke and the guy barely had his first time like bruh
