Yea tbh this story is not a good representation of BDSM in general. For me the complete lack of education on a virgin w no experience whatsoever it's crazy. Like even IF mc were to like this things in the future, an "experienced" dom pulling out chocking w/o explaining how dangerous it is to a sub who never even did anything is completely out
In bdsm the chocking is done with the right technique and knowledge about anatomy (and consent ofc!!) and there's different types of chocking more extreme n more safe types that focus mostly on sensation around the neck and dont apply any restrictions to the blood or oxygen flow.
What im here to say, that its okey if you don't get bdsm, when i started to learn about it it also made me uncomfortable but when i digged in a bit and seen that true bdsm community cares a lot about the safety n provides guides how to play with your partner, that made me a bit less uncomfortable about it, so if you feel comfortable with that i recommend reading more about how actual bdsm looks (since learning from porn/comics is 90% far away from how it looks in reality)
Im huge fan of comic series where they learn readers about safe sex, and show how important after care and consent are! I recommend series "A Basic Guidebook to BDSM (Yaoi)" which shows more about safety in bdsm

I'm starting to learn about where BDSM starts to make me slightly uncomortable even if both parties consent: I don't like choking the sub because of how easy that can go south and I don't like slapping someone's face...For some reason, I have nothing against whipping or slapping ass cheeks but no face slaps. It just feels like real violence and I cannot override the thought of "face slap = disrespect"
