I know that's awful to ask, but, what would be the point of preserving the head? Like, did he feel like hunting her and mounting the head instead?
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Calling her a Jewel and all, and it was previously mentioned that the red hair was very distinct and as its seen as "the colour of house callaire" it would make sense that he kept the head as a trophy to show he killed a noble bloodline off. And maybe because of his psychopathic tendencies, I wouldn't be suprised if he just kept the head so that he could "talk to her", so to speak. Idk I just imagined her head on a stake (I love how we're deeping this even though it could be revealed to be something else)
