I own a flock of chickens

Egg binding is real and super dangerous. As awful as this is (and I’m so grateful to god that I’ve never had this happen to any of my hens), the best way to diagnose egg binding is to put on a glove, lube up your finger, and go poking around. I’m being deadass rn. That’s just to feel if there is an egg there. To help them pass it, you have to soak them in a warm salt bath to loosen thing up and/or lubricate the canal as far as you can reach. If you don’t help them, it can be fatal.

What they did not show “accurately” is that chickens do not have an anus or vagina/penis. They have a cloaca, which is a universal vent that faeces and eggs/sperm pass through. So if they were truly going for accuracy, the chicken would not have all of those bits but would just have one hole in which there is the potential for shit to come out instead of the egg… That he caught with his mouth….
