Omg it's been years since I last heard about that story, but I see where you're getting at. I hated that hayase clan so bad knowing its origins. I kinda hope this story's a little different, I'd hate it if it's just cuz of blood and obsession.
Same i hate all of hayases expect kahaku he is the first male heirs and the first to reach hayase goal by being one of fushi form meaning fushi is attached to him, but sadly still bad ending

I think the story will unfold like that, mainly relationship about fushi and hayase clans
Fushi is able to get people who attached to him became somewhat a ghost, while this hayase people or clan have been obsesively chasing after him down to her generation, anyone from hayase clans to heirs and heirs and heirs is bound to fall in love toward fushi in sick obsesive and toxic way
My bets the uke is just like fushi
