Like i do get that people dont like when artists uses AI but Author still draws the characters, makes the plot etc. Backgrounds don't mean that much, and they take a considerable amount of time to make, later to be ignored anyway. In my opinion using AI is just a reasonable option and doesnt take away from the plot.

Don't they already do that. Not exactly ai but using literally real world pictures and skies and incorporating that and other stuff like that. As long as it's nothing absurd and the character are drawn I'm ok I guess. As we already ignore the background mostly.
Genuinely the only support I'm giving to this story is emotional as I'm reading this here , in all honesty I don't think I can complain anything anyways
If your problem is specifically from ai then I totally understand tho.
It's a very good story actually but your decision to read it ig.
