    mc = main character. person who's pov the story is primarily told from.
    ml = main lead. the usual suspect who shows up first as a love interest and usually gets the mc. but there are rare occasions its a love tri or smth and the second ml gets the mc.

    MC = main character = protagonist of the story
    OG = original
    Then depending if the story is centred around a male or female love interest we have:
    ML = male lead
    FL = female lead
    those are the primary love interests, they usually end up with the MC. Then there can also be a secondary FL/ML, so the love rival of FL/ML. Any person who appears and is of lower importance is a side character.

    Now for example if we have a situation where the story is about someone reincarnated as a villainess in a novel about a saintess marrying the prince, then:
    MC = main character of the current story, so the person, that reincarnated into the villainess
    OG FL = the female character that was originally the main female character of the novel, so the saintess
    OG ML = the female character that was originally the main male character of the novel, so the prince
    ML = the one that is the main love interest of our MC, so could be the OG ML (the prince) or could be someone else, for example a duke of the north

    *typo:
