yeah asil is making a really dumb decision thinking he can suddenly save the day on the frontlines but… idk i can’t really blame him for thinking that way. he only had one goal in mind joining the academy: be a soldier and bring glory/money to his family. he put in so much time and effort, only for all his agency to be taken away from him, raped repeatedly, and harassed the whole time. running away like this is his first decision he’s made completely unafraid of valery. he’s sick and tired of the power imbalance… this is the one chance to get past that (if he manages to make it all the way through) ╮(￣▽￣)╭
