Self harm is the act of deliberately harming the surface of one's own body. Tattooing is painful just like cutting, piercing and burning. So technically he was but he didn’t have the mindset behind it that people usually have when they hurt themselves. I use to do stick-in-pokes when I was slicing up my arms in middle school.
