nah, he actually still want to be an idol. It just his ego was hurt so much by how the industry treated him that he began to think he should ran away. Deep down, he enjoyed being an idol.
Ooh I was about to say like TF that would be insane if he was actually forced to do that.
So basically, what I can see from the first chapter of is MC has to give up his dream to satisfy 30 million people, just because he didn't want to be an Idol anymore.
