SPOILERS!!!!!
There’s a running away due to misunderstandings, faking death, and siding with the enemy drama that lasted around 60+ chapters, and these was all after the ML insisted on calming down and talking clearly.
MC doesn't know that the guide that died was the ML brother. Apparently it was a known thing in the US where the guild was originally from. But then something happened and ML threatened everyone that even spoke about him and his brother so that information got lost. Resulting in Korea and the world all assumed that ML and the guide were lovers.
After this dungeon, ML brings in this new guide and ML assumes he’s being replaced. He thinks he’s useless now. But in reality they found a guide enhancing device?? It basically makes guides one level higher than their current grade, but it doesn’t work on S class guides. ML is doing this so that MC doesn’t have to worry about guiding anyone else but ML. Some more things happen and misunderstandings build. Long story short, no one tells MC about the guide amplifier, misunderstandings ensue, and he runs away/puts in his resignation as the guilds guide. He goes and stays with this old guy for a while until ML finds him. That’s the first chasing arc.
And it would have been more enjoyable if that had been it, but no. MC then goes on to fake his death for like two years and runs away to Argentina. Then he has to save ML because ML is in denial about his death and is rampaging all the dungeons and refuses to let anyone guide him. THEN MC decides to form a fake relationship with that freak Shin Hae-chang and works as the guide for his guild for like a year or something i dont even remember tbh. I ended up skimming a lot after I realized it was just going to keep dragging on.
Just a warning to everyone who hasn’t read the novel
The chasing arc is very, very, very, very, very unnecessarily long and drawn out. Like, so soso so long and the misunderstandings are infuriatingly frustrating
