I don’t think the duke is a pedo but it’s giving pedo vibes… like the duke is in love with the adult Alois, but he literally raised him since he was a kid. Like how could he not think of him as his own kid after all those years of raising him??? The biggest question I have is exactly WHEN did the duke fall in love with him & felt sexually attracted to Alois? If the duke fell in love with Alois as an adult then that makes me feel a little better… They are 2 consenting adults so it shouldn’t matter, but it just feels wrong
Edit: i wrote some misinformation in my previous post. (as seen from someone’s reply below )
The duke didn’t raise Alois, but the duke was obviously aware that Alois was trying to persue a much more intimate relationship with him as a minor and sent him away. But why would he send him away??
In my personal opinion, I think it’s because the duke may have found himself being attracted to Alois when he was a minor and sent him away because he felt things may or may not escalate (to be clear I don’t think he would’ve done anything to Alois when he was a minor) but he certainly did feel the possibility and felt disgusted with himself. Now that Alois shows up as an adult he feels more justified in accepting not only Alois’ feelings but his own feelings.
Long story short, I feel that ppl (including myself) find this read a little bit “pedo-fishing” because of how their dynamic started and find it uncomfortable to come to terms with the fact that at the end of the day, Alois is not a kid anymore and can consent…
Anyway, that was fucking long HOLY SHOMLY but yeAH! That’s kinda wut I was trying to say in my original post in a nutshell (I could yap more but my thumbs are tired)
