i loveeeee this story, its also my second favourite. i feel like people just dont understand the complexity of it so they dislike it

You can be a complex character without being an asshole lmao. That’s why people dislike it, not because it’s complex. This superior complex is embarrassing lmao. The characters in this story aren’t even that deep to be gassing yourself up. Every character in the new story is unlikable and morally challenged

The new story also has the most chapters compared to the other stories, people expected it to be a short story but it’s dragging out with almost 20 chapters now, probably over it now. This story could’ve honestly been separate

But I don’t hate the story, it just makes sense as to why there’s sm hate so I don’t get why this thread exists lmao

Writing about assholes isn’t bad. It’s just a story and it’s interesting to see morally grey people. That’s what makes them complex compared to the usual characters you get in these type of stories. I actually like them.

I get what you mean. It’s quite interesting to observe the depth of their blackness. I can empathize with them. They even talked about poverty and what it does to you (even if it was only grazed upon).

There’s nothing wrong with writing about assholes but people don’t like the story because damn near every character in this story is an asshole, there’s nothing appealing to them so that they could continue it. It really just boils down to someone’s preference of characters tbh

Characters like Tohru and Yuki are great examples of nice characters who are complex. Esp Tohru, so yea a character can be nice and still be complex

At the end of the day, characters are based on actual people or get their traits from people so it doesn’t rlly matter what the personality is, they can still be complex. Hope this makes sense lol
