Hum... I'm more rational : Veronica is ambitious, becomes Daphne's ally and take the throne after Asherad's "accidental" death
I think she'll help her escape and the emperor will go crazy wondering how she left, maybe he'll think she was kidnapped cause how could his dog want to leave, or maybe she'll just kidnap her if she is truly like that
And by that I mean evil and conniving
Veronica kills Daphne, Emperor goes insane, and he finds a way to rewind time, goes back in the past and treats Daphne better so she falls for him again
