I definitely agree, but I think her behavior in this case is understandable. She’s going into secret dungeons trying to find clues to whatever sketchy magic is changing her body. The sister followed them and basically tried to kill her on sight because of some assumptions. It’s pretty reasonable to use lethal force on an opponent who is not only much stronger than you, but also trying to kill you.
MC was an orphan who never really experienced any form of love or affection growing up, and only met shitty, self serving people as an adult. Add the severe trauma into the mix and it’s really not surprising why she wouldn’t understand their connection. She was basically so overwhelmed and inundated with fear and despair that she lost the capacity to feel those emotions. It was the only way for her mind to cope. That lack of capacity extends to both herself and others.
The thing is, if the sister had actually bothered to investigate, she would have learned that MC was a retaliating victim, not a greedy perpetrator. She allowed her desire to control/“protect” her brother to spur her on, so it was really convenient to assume her problem happened to be a greedy murderer so she could take it upon herself to be judge, jury, and executioner. Even if she’s not aware of it, that assumption was for her own convenience
