When he said they're cousins, I thought the plan was to let that bitch marry the king and let them think they're gonna have the throne when he dies but actually pass the throne to Carl automatically by a will or something. I thought the King and Carl are partners for the revenge of the King.

Okay so, i get it now. The prince who survived the fire and supposedly the now king is the ML, Carl. The wounded man who's acting as the king is a decoy. He is the son of the physician.
I was confused at first because the ML said the wounded king is his cousin. Now, that was actually a lie. They're not cousins. King and Carl is the same person.
About the MC, so she actually purposely erased her memory about Carl with the help of her nanny using hypnosis... I'm guessing she learned about Carl's identity and other dark stuff that she felt like she needed to forget about everything to protect him.
The biggest villain here is really the blonde family (i forgot their family name). THEY'RE AWFUL! REAL VILLAINS.
