He was already dead when Ines killed the child. However, since he left the pendent in the jewelry store to attract Ines’s attention as if he wanted her to come look for him, the prophet Anastasio gave him the vision of Ines killing the child and then herself. That’s when he realized he needs to leave Ines alone. The whole point of him having memories was to avoid Ines so he wouldn’t hurt her but he was trying to drag Ines back into an ill-fated meeting with him so Anastasio stopped him. After all, the fact that Ines almost died from seeing the pendant meant that she was so wracked with guilt that she starts hyperventilating and have extreme difficulty breathing. This is Ines’s last chance to live out a happy life and Anastasio is trying to protect that chance for her.
I wonder if Carcel is going to recognise Emiliano or Emiliano him or something. It also seems like Ines had more past life’s/deaths than she remembers and even as if Oscar also remembers something about Ines and already remembered something in her past life (where he was so terrible) because I feel like his weird obsessiveness isn’t just baseless jealousy, like Ines said, why would he have wanted to kill Carcel back then when they rarely had anything to do with each other?
