I can't help but pity Lee Sangmin. Imagine growing up being abused, rejected and humiliated because of your parent's sin. Having the only family support (mother) die due to schizophrenia cause by stress.

With nothing left, Sangmin clung to a single goal: revenge. He dedicated his life to becoming the best, not out of ambition, but as a desperate attempt to prove his worth and throw his success in the face of the family that abandoned him.

Some may argue that "Many people are experiencing even worse but they don't become bad", That’s what makes them incredibly resilient and admirable. But we have to remember that people process trauma differently, based on their mental state, support system, coping mechanisms, and even personality.

Of course what he did was terrible and can never be excused. He tried to kill a boy and successfully killed a precious daughter of someone. The readers understadably can hate and never forgive him but they should understand how someone can be both a victim and a villain. Seeng the full picture helps us understand that people don't turn evil, they break.

    Perfect explanation.

I appreciate the reunion of both JH and SM. SM suffered and also hurted others which he is also enlightened and served his punishment. That is the ending we need for him.
