it's simple he cant protect himself. rn the white tower despite it's history is in danger of getting strip of as one of four great towers. there's barely any high level mages left. they also dont even have the funds. their total revenue cant even account to 1% of blue tower's. one high level mage from other towers can just kill him if they find out he alone restored one of the 63 high levels spells the white tower had.
oum, restoring the white tower is the priority, he's already part of the past so it doesn't really matter to him about fame and recognition, if it's all for the better of the white tower then it's fine. White tower is his home after all.
