Do any of y'all have any plans on writing your own comic story in the future? And how good are you at drawing?

i'm better of being a writer than an actual artist, i've made a few full-on story projects (20+) back in my earlier highschool years but nobody has read them except me & half of them were just oneshots lol

I got “dropped after 1 chapter”, one-shots and low quality comedy comics out on webtoon lmao. Though I do have a million stories cooked up in my head already it’s more about the commitment to a single story for a long period of time that really gets to me.
Clip studio is having a global comic awards competition with Mangadraft rn and I finished my one shot submission a few weeks ago, it’s 17 page manga BUT MY ASS WAS DRAINED. Only 17 pages and I felt like I never wanted to draw again, so ain’t no way I can handle something longer.
My art skills…not the best, but good enough as long as there isn’t crazy perspectives or fights going on

I want to.. I’m in my mid twenties, unemployed and a “freelancer” (graphic designer). I’ve been drawing for years but stopped during uni.. so it’s been 2-3 years? I’m trying to come back to art and hopefully become a comic artist. My only issue is that it’s really difficult (being unemployed and starting art again).

So the best thing for me would be in an environment where I can cultivate my skills and work on them. And I was thinking going back to uni will put me in an environment which will make it easier for me to stick to that path. HOWEVER, I would need a scholarship (my grades are bad so idk how).

Also, I want to learn how to create Manhwas. So I would need to go to Korea.. which means I need to do the TOPIK exam or get my masters instead but I would need to do the GRE exam..
    … I’m rambling

No plans yet to make my own but I have fanmade super tiny comic strips of shows/stories I like. I'm hoping to make a tiny one of jigu's juicy tits getting eaten by yeowoon someday just to satisfy my eyes. My drawing skills are basic and mediocre but I personally do comedy style so my skills doesn't matter much as long as the punch line part hits and gets people laughing.

Lmaoo , currently in the same situation!! But I am so sure I'll have my job by the end of this year since it is a government post . I'm trying to get into drawing as a side kick just so I don't dwell on phone much. I have these juicy stories up in my head that I wanna put in copies just so I can die satisfied. I'll see how many years it will take for me to get so good at drawing that I could write my own comic ; I'll not even post , I just want to see it in my drawing copy .
I hope you achieve your dream soon and I hope I can read y'all stories in future.

Oh no ! Consistency can be so hard sometimes but I hope you take rest as much as you need and get back at it anyway. Also curious how do you plan a story board? Do you write scripts first and then rough drawings and then actual thing? I tend to freak out if it's not done it short time , I have a patience of a puppy lol

No I wing it, jkjk. Sometimes I do a thing where I write stuff life
Panel 1: Character a walks in
Character A says “blah blah blah”
Kinda thing, but I realize that when you actually draw it out, the dialogue is never gonna match what you wrote down first, so I get my clip studio strip, map out the panels based on what poses or positions of the character goes in there, draw a very messy base of the characters so I get an idea of what all the panels will look like, draw the actual panels in another file, group all the layers together then copy and paste it onto the strips file, fit it to the panels then merge all the layers in the file together. Dialogue and sfx I add at the very end.
