I think we’re interpreting this chapter wrong. What Jay meant by debt might not be the same financial debt Mincheol is talking about. Taeha very clearly said to Mincheol that “I already gave you a chance”. I think that implies he gave Mincheol a chance to treat Haesoo right. He gave Mincheol a chance to make things better with Haesoo. By now we know that Taeha knew Haesoo in the past especially when things were very tough for her because of the financial debt that Mincheol had. Mincheol never really made up for that and then went on to cheat with Ari. It was only after that cheating did Taeha come into Haesoo’s life. Taeha here is telling Mincheol that he’s already used up his chances to be in Haesoo’s life. Now he will be the one to make her happy. Taeha is most likely also the one who told Jay what to say to Mincheol. The debt Jay is talking about is not a financial one but an emotional one that Mincheol has to pay and the repayment of that debt starts from his suffering. Since Mincheol has no idea about this he’s confused and thinks they’re loan sharks. The wife Mincheol knows is gone. She’s not the same Na Haesoo for better or for worst. He won’t find her anymore. That’s why Taeha says he hid all traces of her. Not Mincheol or anyone else will find the old Haesoo. The new Haesoo won’t let things go as Mincheol expects.

That's a much better interpretation. I hope that's how it is. I don't want minshit to think that haesoo's selling herself to loan sharks or some shit
