First off, the Duchess actually was so right. Like her advice was truly kind. Yes, she has stakes in this since she wants to ruin Etienne, but that doesn't mean she's wrong. Sioanna truly would be happier with moving on.

Second, why tf was he so tall and lanky on page 6? Like he looks like a cryptic lurking over her Actually goofy ass scary looking mf. Like he used to be scary but handsome but now he's just scary looking

Finally, Sioanna is right, he is exhausting and always has been. He keeps going in circles and never explains and his thinking is always wrong. Sioanna may be hot-headed, but she has always made good decisions and been right about things that Etienne always gets wrong. Take for example how they got into this mess in the first place. She wanted to run away and live as a commoner. He refused to think that would make her happy and thus ruined their chance of happiness by not even letting her make her own decisions (she is also later proven right by living as a commoner and not struggling to take care of herself despite being sheltered). Then we have their current situation. He thinks making her a mistress will protect her, but as the Duchess points out, it offers her no legal protection and only gets her bad attention. He won't explain he's doing it to protect her just like what happened in the past, and Sioanna, like in the past, tries to trust him until she sees reality and explodes at him, leading him to demean her and go crazy, thus starting the cycle again.

Exhausting is definitely the word to describe this manga, but sadly I am deeply invested lmao
