I’ve never actually read this series because it’s not really my kind of genre. But today I came across a post on X from the artist behind it, asking readers to support them through official sources because piracy is directly hurting their ability to live and continue creating.
That really hit me hard. I’ve read pirated works before without thinking too much about it. But seeing that post made me realize how unfair it is. Just like us, artists are trying to survive and yet, by reading free scans, I was unknowingly part of what’s destroying someone’s livelihood and that makes me want to make up for that by going back and purchasing the works I’ve read, one by one and if you’re reading this too… maybe take a moment to think about it. If a story has brought you joy, the least we can do is help keep that creator going.
They give us stories to escape to, so why can’t we give them hope in return...?
