so basically the guys with the robes are trying to open a portal to the otherworld which supposedly can grant wishes or something when the prophesied opens it (gujin), in the original first loop which gujin doesn’t remember saewoon is the one to reach the gate and ask for gujin to come back to life but only has 12 tries*the reason is expalined in the novel* gujin comes back to life but everytime saewoon dies gujin has to repeat everything,
saewoon cares about gujin because he’s been in love with him since thier first year
also all the teachers are in the cult except one who hasn’t appeared yet
at the end most of the students die but they make it out when gujin awakens and breaks down a capsule that contains their souls *used by the cult to power the gate* and lets them free so they come back to life thats when rescue comes.
