He didn't adopt the kid bcz he likes the older version. He sought him out because his future self told him that Alois is special and to find out for himself why that is.
I mean like, the concept is good, it's basically a time loop of the Duke adopting the kid because he liked the older version but.... It's just weird, grooming and pedo at this point. Would have been better if adonis (or whatever his name was) was already an adult
