So what i think is those skeletons were all the reincarnations of the MC over the years. Its like a cycle, he gets reborn and lured into the mansion each time. And those are the clues he left for himself of next life.
But I don't think he is trapping him because of resentment, I feel it is more like he still has the faint hope that at some point he won't betray him like he did in the past.
And tbh these 2 were obv not just only "friends" in the past ┗( T﹏T )┛
Being as hot as they are is impossible this is about friendship betrayal....

I mean, there are several skeletons of the same proportions that date from different centuries and are all stored in the same room, in the same house that the MC is lured into, where the host sleeps, host who is very clearly the serpent who was trapped centuries ago.
So basically, the plot is probably that the MC did something centuries ago (or thats it a misunderstanding and the snake guy just thinks he did it), the villagers trapped the snake, and every century or so, the MC reincarnates and the snake guy lures him into the same house, probably with the same or similar bait, and idk what he does to him, but the MC ends up dead and his body is stored.
And probably, he'll end up trapped here, then they'll have some adventures, then the misunderstanding will get cleared up, they will be in love and end up happy ever after (that, or some tragedy happens and the snake guy disappears forever and MC too or just snake guy).

It seems plausible but you know what, now that you say that it actually feels like that they were both set on a trap, the snake thinks the human betrayed him and the human thinks the snake did something and they are cursed. and he keeps reincarnating because is the only way they can both break the curse or something. And what the shaman hoped for was to eliminate the snake while the snake hopes for the curse to be broken so they can be together (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
But it looks more like the shaman was threatened by the snake to do it or something, or that he had some type of obligation. He didn't look serene

And the snake doesn't seem to upset about the MC coming to his house, is like he is living there just waiting for him to get there at some point
