Not too sure on what is to come since I don't know if it has a novel or if it's just a webtoon original. To sum up the series like most immortal drama's you can watch. FL and ML are all part of a great destiny line that you unravel as you learn more about the characters. So to start out I'm gonna re-order some things to make it a little clearer even though we find this all out in a different order!
The Water God's father, who was emperor of the heavenly realm at the time, had been murdered, and the Thunder God had sent his people to hunt down the Water God to have him killed. Six months before this event, the Water God had the Goddess of Prophecy see into his future only for her to see part of the future where she would die for trying to save the Water God; she was willing to accept this fate upon learning it. However, when the time came that the Water God came knocking on her door injured seeking refuge from the Thunder God's army, she did not move to let him in. Fear of death clung to her so deeply at this moment, and she pushed her fate to the side to escape.
He was turned away by the Goddess of Prophecy so he made haste and ran as far as he could, even risking angering the first Sun Goddess who had been waiting for her death to come as she could feel her end coming after living 100,000 years. He seeks refuge with her and not too long later she is facing her death. Not only that, but he isn't willing to let her die and shares his divinity with her monthly to keep her alive to protect him until he can have the power to overturn the Thunder God who had taken the throne.
Over time, he had fallen in love with the Sun Goddess and she in return fostered feelings to stay with him just a bit longer. The Goddess of Prophecy is not happy that the love she was supposed to gain from the Water God had gone to someone else when he was supposed to love her.
The Water God had managed to overthrow the Thunder God with the help of the God of War [FL's father]. The Water God didn't want the throne because he would rather spend time with the Sun Goddess, so the God of War was granted the throne, but many of the gods did not like that the Emperor held no royal blood, so there was constant tug and pull in the courts. Remember our jealous Goddess of Prophecy? Yeah, you got the idea. She plots with the court and the emperor in a way to kill the Water God.
So the "fateful" day that the Goddess of Prophecy had said would be the best day to kill the Water God, she goes and murders her own elder sister the Goddess of Destiny to keep her from telling her plans. The Goddess of Destiny could see more accurately into the future, past, and such as well as see further events, which only filled her little sister with even more jealousy. Unaware that her sister was setting into motion her own way to fix a destiny that was about to be sent spiralling out of control in a new fate at the cost of her own soul. The Goddess of Prophecy had no idea of this and would never learn this. Her ability had taken a drastic turn to where she would see people's unhappy future's so she needed to make sure her sister couldn't share this info.
The Water God is assassinated while the Sun Goddess had been away to see the emperor and when she returned she broke heaven's law to bring his soul back reviving him which consumed the rest of her life she was living on and tainted her soul. She loved him dearly. He upon reviving after seeing her dead in response breaks heaven's law to drag her soul back; which was only half of her soul.
Not long later, the pure half of the Sun Goddess' soul is reborn as Moha [the FL]. The Water God having no knowledge of this as he was obsessed with finding ways to revive the half soul of his lover, further breaking heaven's law. He'd been finding women to house her corrupt soul to bring her back, but her memory was sealed so she couldn't remember anything and even if she couldn't remember her past he didn't care as long as he had her. Goddess of Prophecy had thought with the death of the Sun Goddess, she'd have a chance, not knowing it would break him so badly that he'd have tried to revive his dead lover.
Time passes, and we have when Moha, the reincarnation of the pure half of the previous Sun Goddess, has fallen for a mortal man. He ends up on his deathbed and Moha steals the special medicine that grants immortality to the one that consumes it, but she isn't aware that her loved one's soul isn't in the body any longer but taken over by one of his brothers. The Goddess of Prophecy had convinced the Water God into a plan to revive his lover using Moha's body, but first was to get her exiled. So when the mortal had been on his deathbed the Water God had removed his soul and replaced it with the brother then chucked the mortal's soul into the black river in hell where the sinners go for all eternity.
The fake lover had been brought back to health with the medicine Moha stole. Upon the heaven's learning that she had given it to a mortal, she was exiled for 300 years on the mortal plane. So she spent 300 years in a palace far from the man who didn't love her because it wasn't really him. In the first 3 years of her exile she had gone to hell to meet her best friend, the King of the Underworld. Her lover's soul had recognized her somewhat and had followed her to the palace in the Underworld where the King turns his soul into the black tiger saying he'd be his servant, to which when Moha is ready to leave the tiger refuses to stay behind and tries to leave with her. She ends up taking him, but the King knew who the soul was and as a rule he couldn't tell her, as secrets about souls are to remain a secret from those they'd have a connection with [wasn't too clear on this].
Years go by and just shortly before the end of her exile she is invited to the castle by the false lover only to end up drugged. She wakes up, as we saw, and all 3 tigers are dead. She has the confrontation with the fake lover only for him to kill himself on her blade which in the end she kills herself on wishing she could have done things different as the whole kingdom is dead due to her power.
At this time, the Goddess of Destiny had been housed in the sword, and the wish was triggered by the black tiger's wish for Moha to always be happy. There was a little jade charm doll attached to the end of the sword, that turned out to have been a spirit who was distraught at everyone being dead and could hear the Goddess of Destiny's voice calling out from the sword. A choice is made to send them back a year in time with a twist. The spirit would be given all the Goddess of Destiny's memories and pretend to be Moha while the real Moha's soul would be housed in the spirit's human form. The Spirit agrees, she wants to be of help if it means they can live. So regressing a whole year back in time.
Moha in the Spirit's human body is nearly killed by her beloved tigers, nearly killed by a monster, and ends up nearly killed again by her own tigers. Rather stressful for her as she tries to be someone she isn't with no power to use. She assumes the Moha of the timeline is also her and that she was just an extra Moha in soul only. A lot of things go on as she grows closer to the black tiger.
Moha has a plan to murder the fake lover so that when the exile is over they can just go back home. Many things happen until she's on her way to deliver a letter to the fake lover when she overhears a conversation that tells her that the man she loved had been dead all this time, she grieves and tells this to the black and white tiger. She's later kidnapped and learns that the Water God had been using so many women to house his dead lover's soul while feeding all the women's souls to some guy who will end up killed and the souls collected to be returned to hell later, but I jump ahead of myself here. The Water God had wanted to put his dead lover's soul in Moha's body and remove her soul, only to lose the soul to her as she locks the lover's soul within her own.
Some battle here as the black tiger rescues her only to end up needing to go to the underworld to meet the King to help her. The King at first refuses to help until some words the black tiger says has him checking the soul within the body and realizes who she is instantly. Days of healing~
The two plot a fake wedding so that she had a power to lean on, which she marries her best friend who has always secretly loved her. Black tiger is not too happy about this and spends time trying to figure her out when he eventually learns she's truly Moha. He tries everything he can to aid her moving forward.
More things are learned as they learn the Water God threw her lover's soul into the black river and the black tiger risking learning his memories to retrieve the lover's soul from the black river since souls in the black river did horrible crimes worth being thrown in there cursed to forget their lives. He wished he was that lover and also cursed the luck of that soul for being so loved by Moha. Upon using an ability to look into souls, he awakens he memories and learns he is that dead lover. He cannot tell her since it was a connection of the past and wished to build a new connection with her in this new form he lived in.
Black tiger ends up trying to figure out who and what the spirit in Moha's real body is up to which she tells him everything and more on what happened the day they regressed that Moha didn't know. Moha overheard that the black tiger is her lover's soul and the two pretend they don't know this and try to build a connection. The Goddess of Destiny makes a moment to tell the black tiger the connection of the Water God and the previous Sun Goddess. This is the earlier story ^v^
The Water God ends up kidnapping Moha, again, the halves of the souls are merging during this whole time. He takes her and all of his staff into a bead that he made appear like the grounds he lived on with the First Sun Goddess when she was around. During a time the Water God stepped away a maid who had been a spy for the Water God tried to help Moha escape, but as she neared the exit the two halves of soul had fully merged and she recalled all of her memories as the previous Sun Goddess only to return to the room she had been held captive in.
She was ready to stay captive since it was her fault he ended up so broken. Black tiger and all of the heavenly realm is trying to find her. She's eventually rescued but at a great cost. The Water God would learn soon enough that Moha is the reincarnation of his beloved Goddess. The Goddess of Prophecy is pissed and has used the fake king to order a sacrifice which they end up calling upon a ritual for rain wrong as it was to curse Moha. Moha returns to her main body and asks to switch places with the spirit which the two do switch places. Upon gaining her body she goes "Dark" and murders the corrupt official and the Goddess of Prophecy before stabbing herself with the the Sword of the Sun God enabling the tainted half of her soul to enter purification.
She's pulled into a realm gods who have died go to rest and talks with the Goddess of Destiny and learns everything and is also talking with the tainted half of her soul. The fate that was supposed to be, when it changed, how it was meant to end, when she herself had decided to enter the chance to change the fate to right the change that went wrong. We learn that the black tiger was a fragment of the Water God's soul when he had died. The destiny was that the Previous Sun Goddess should have died alone, the Goddess of Prophecy should have been killed along side the Water God. The Sun Goddess and the Water God would have been reborn and met in the next life when their connection should have really started, but because of one Goddess changing the fate so much happened. When the Sun Goddess broke the heaven's law she should have been destroyed, but by a strange miracle that didn't happen.
After learning everything she decided she needed to go back and she did while the other half of the soul didn't wish to return. She returns and spends the last day with the Water God allowing him to hear the words the Previous Sun Goddess would have conveyed to him. He was jealous that she held such love for that mortal only to learn he was jealous of his own soul. He dies not long after they talk. The black tiger put his human body to rest and is nearing the end of his own body from pushing it to the limits to find Moha. He's about on death's edge himself. The King of the Underworld makes a joke and says he wanted the Spirit since he's technically married to her, but Moha says that if she ever wants to leave she is welcome to run to her. The Spirit is ok with going with him, but will keep it in mind. Moha takes in all of the servants of the Water God seeing as they have nowhere to go with him dead.
We don't know when the black tiger dies, but 3,000 years pass. We hear that there's a new God of Destiny who was born 2,000 years prior who wants her hand in marriage. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
That's about where we are at chapter 117. We're led to believe the Water God + her mortal lover / black tiger have returned as this new reincarnation of a 4th connection. Honestly I hope that helped sum it up. There was a lot of things that happened, but that's a brief summary of 117 chapters o7

Wow. That was really helpful, thank you. I just hope that the mortal lover/black tiger comes back with his memories so that there aren’t any more issues.
Do you have the chapter numbers for when the black tiger remembers his memories, everything is revealed, the water god discovers that Moha is his lost lover?
Now that 100 chapters have been released can someone explain the story to me? I tried reading it, but I struggle by chapter 20
