The reason the duchess left him isn't actually bc he fathered a bastard child. She wanted to divorce him bc of how hateful he treated Olivia. She saw how he arranged for the FL to be tormented by the Nanny, was ordered by him to be starved and ignored. She realized from the way he neglected and blamed a blameless child that he is not the loving and caring man she thought he was.
Still not valid you shouldn't hate a child that's born innocent and has done nothing wrong and continue to abuse them and ruin their life, that's messed up and it's not an excuse, if he was just ignoring her that would be a different case.
Low key after reading that the dad was raped and having to see the living proof of that - I’d treat her like shit too. I’d send her to an orphanage and make sure I never see her again. He was assaulted.
As for our FL, I see her side too. She shouldn’t have to be treated like that because she didn’t do anything wrong. Her family is wrong to treat her like shit and blame her for the sins of the adults behind the assault.
