if after expiration date it became poison, it wouldnt be on the market. More likely just become useless. In any case, if you in tight situation, exp meds > no meds at all
Then it's better for no meds rather than expired meds, it could worsen the illness and die depending on the doses. Being in a apocalypse doesn't mean you can just use expired medicine like it's still good for you.

Yeah survival is of course most important but you still have to care about safety. aside from regular medicine, you can use herbal medicine instead of regular medicine. I imagine it's what they use when they run out of medicine and the supply hasn't arrived
