It’s one thing to not love a kid you think isn’t yours but it’s another to despise a literal child so much he wants to keep her alive long enough that she can experience love just so that he can crush it as hard as her mother did to his. What justifies taking revenge on a child for the actions of their parents? Especially one so young and defenceless? He’s literally trash walking on land.

Sympathy isn't even a good excuse. Lack of emotion isn't a good enough excuse. Without emotion, a person can still be a decent human being. Morals can be dictated by simple intelligence which he has. Nothing, NOTHING excuses a grown adult having so much malice towards an innocent child. His heartbreak and feelings of betrayal DOES NOT justify being cruel. It's a low bar and he can't even scratch that.
