You are completely right and I agree with everything you said. Give me real struggle and not just "lol did you see ? He's a fucker but now he's the one getting it in the ass because that's what weak person's are for" and like you say, it's says a lot about the one writing it and the one who love reading it. I'm the type of person who love to see a very mean and horrible character get an arc where he's suffering very much deep inside and understand what he did was horrible and change, that's THE thing I love the most (let's not get over ourselves, of course all of them need therapy, which doesn't exist in manhwa and some of them just need to go in prison let's be clear) . But there's very little like me because when I post comment in those arcs I'm really getting rock thrown at me, readers just want to see those characters dies/getting raped/abused which is terrifying of them in my opinion. But that's what I think.
I feel like you're referring to My Soha. But I don't get the vibe from this that he's going to be topped against his will. Getting into a fake engagement cause he has no other options is his punishment. I think he'll fall in love with the omega and want to be topped. I don't see the omega forcing him into it
In my side, whenever there are antagonist or a side male lead who became bottom when they were top to begin with, all i thought is because at the very start they are destined to be bottom i don't see it as a punishment for them..

Oof another one of these tropes. Yknow I see quite a lot of side stories where the antagonist top turns into a bottom. And that’s fine an all if that’s what they’re into. But I don’t know how to feel whenever it’s made that way as a form of punishment. It’s like “woo! Bad guy gets topped against his will, he gets his pride hurt! Yay!!” And it always feels so odd to me. Of course nine times out of ten the antagonist did terrible things to warrant that. But it feels wrong to both payback with more SA and make it seem like being a bottom is a shameful punishment. It kinda makes you see how authors and certain readers REALLY view how a bottom position is.
Rather than using sex and position as punishment, I’d much rather see the punishment be hitting the antagonist at a more emotional level. Like having to struggle from losing everything and going through the hardship of being broke and working multiple jobs. Learning to be a better person as the antagonist experiences and witnesses that this is how others struggle in life. Or maybe the antagonist falls deeply in love but grovels and suffers from their lover finding out about their past actions. Or their bad deeds coming back to haunt them by their enemies coming to get revenge, etc. I feel like this route would be SO MUCH more interesting and deeper but I hardly ever see it happen as most authors wanna get down to the sex and romance bit.
