It's because of their age gap in human years. Yea Rurin is 800 but she's just now coming of age and in human years that usually means 16. So El a 30 year old would be having a romantic relationship with a 16 year old. You could argue that coming of age means 18 in human years but that's still a big age gap. Plus it doesnt help that they made Rurins character look and act like a child.
