No, he's just the oldest out of his siblings and the only one to not get married.
I'm 32 next month and unmarried. My family nags me all the time that it's weird that I'm in my 30s and single 'cause most of them were married either before or in their early 20s.
It's not just a Japanese thing and it's not based around an obsession with "youthful innocence." It's a world wide thing for people to be called "hags" or "spinsters" once they hit a certain age while being unmarried.
