Rape in BLs is so very often used by so many lazy writers that have no idea how to actually portray it with the actual depth of it cause they simply use it as either a kink or a shock value or a “trope” for their characters to get together cause they literally have no chemistry and so they actually have no idea how to make them have sex without forcing it at first. So yeah, they’re actually asking if the story is worth reading and it’s not only because “rape is bad” but because rape is often the reflect of a badly written BL.
