learning is hard but un-learning is way harder... especially if you never feel the "want" to know more. to learn is to accept that you and the entire system that you grew up with might be wrong, and not everyone is capable of handling that or even worse sometimes people completely shunt what actually happened and create a twisted narration to suit themselves. like, just look at the state of our world right now, yeah... anw there are Japanese people who're willing to learn and willing to accept the truth. look up author Haruki Murakami.
I love the characters and I love this buuut i find it really grating when Japanese people/authors talk about WWII and don't acknowledge japan's role in it... Obviously, I'm not justifying the drop of nuclear bombs but Japan was an imperialistic force.... And like I wonder if the characters would do some deep reflection when they step in Korea or other countries that Japan invaded.
