Actually. They dont die. They can be shredded to nothing, the river makes them regenerate. Think about the legless one. He was probably tortured too, he got here somehow tho (without others). So basically, until the pieces of his body are in the dread seeker, or it vomits those out in an island, he wont regenerate. Imagine the dread seeker 'drinking' some water from the river, which makes him regenerate inside the dread seeker. Would be insane
Also, they said at the beginning. You reincarnate, stay on an island, or drown yourself with your consciousness into the river. Noone mentioned dieing from bloodloss, heart attacks, being in five pieces.
