It's not. He's alone out in the wilderness. He's bored. Try being alone completely for at least a month. That's how long he's been without any companionship. And by companionshio, I don't mean his horse and the bunch of sheep's who can't make conversations with him. He feels an attraction to him sure. But it would just be pure loneliness if anything.
