The depiction is shown for us to show his evil nature by the artist. That is their representation to use but from the wolf's visual twds the rancher is completely different.
I think Dennis represents a sheep as well (someone who follows others blindly.) and Todd is like a wolf (someone who takes advantage of people being a sheep.) meaning it’s easy for Todd to manipulate Dennis.
Dennis didn't follow anything blindly. He was clearly struggling with whether or not to go against his principles to shoot the sheep or not. He was given a choice. If you mean that he is a sheep because he's weak then maybe. Without his guns the wolf can probably overpower him. Under pressure to choose to prove his loyalty to one he has professed love to or to remain lonely. It is a matter of principle. Ppl aren't sheep. In some instances maybe bcz they're dumb so they just follow trends or dumb woke ideology, or maybe Nazi or Fascist or Communist, gangs, etc. Like a mob mentality.
